The goal of our auditions is simply to get to know you and your voice. In your audition, you will be asked to complete the three items listed below:
1. Please bring a prepared solo to sing for us. This can be a folk song, hymn, classical song or a Broadway song (no pop/radio music, please). Please bring a copy of the music for the accompanist. This solo does not need to be memorized.
If you do not have a solo prepared, but would still like to audition, you may sing "My Country Tis of Thee," "America, the Beautiful," or "Amazing Grace." (We have music available at the auditions for these options.)
2. A brief sight-reading/pitch-matching exercise. (You do not need to prepare for this and the piano will play with you.)
3. A brief vocal range check and skill check. (You do not need to prepare for this, the exercises will help us better understand your musical skills and experience.)
Auditions will take about 15-20 minutes and we ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to check-in.
