Love, Joy, and Peace

This program features many beloved holiday classics, such as “Glory to God” from Handel’s Messiah and John Rutter’s “What Sweeter Music.” Also included are modern arrangements of traditional tunes such as “Joy to the World,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” and “Silver Bells.”

This performance begins with songs of love, moving toward themes of loss, featuring the program centerpiece, Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna.” The program culminates in a celebration of life with newer works by contemporary composers, such as Ēriks Ešenvalds and Shawn Kirchner.

We will perform a selection of our favorite songs, along with some new contemporary tunes and arrangements. Alumni of the Edina Chorale will be invited to participate at the end of the concert.
