Auditions for the second half of the Edina Chorale 2011-2012 season are coming up soon. Spots are currently available for all sections.

Auditions are by appointment, take about 15 minutes, and include an information sheet (or resume), a prepared solo (hymn or folksong is very appropriate), sight reading and some vocal exercises to demonstrate range and musicianship. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, 7:00 - 9:30 pm, at Edina High School, from September through May.
Opportunities for singers include a broad variety of choral repertoire (Handel with professional orchestra to Elton John), a professional leadership team that encourages the musical growth of each singer, committed and hardworking colleagues, practice recordings, and pride in excellent performances.
CLASSICAL MUSIC ONLY? If you are interested in joining the Chorale to sing only the classical concert, Handel's Israel in Egypt, let the Director know when you audition. This concert will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 3:30 pm with rehearsals on Tuesday evenings during January and February. Dress rehearsal will be held on Saturday afternoon, March 10.
Potential singers should demonstrate pitch and rhythmic accuracy, beautiful and flexible tone, previous choral experience, conscientious work ethic, commitment to entire season, and a willingness to contribute to the good of the chorale beyond singing.
