In this, our twenty-eighth year, we are again excited about our current concert season, which is explained in detail on the Calendar of Events page. To help support this ambitious schedule, the Edina Chorale is soliciting your financial support. The Chorale's expenses include salaries of our musical director, accompanist, and assistants; rent for our rehearsal and performance space; payment to musicians who are hired for each concert; music purchases, etc. Last year, our total expenditures for these items was almost $59,000. In the past, some of our needs were filled by generous in-kind gifts. However, because of factors beyond our control, the printing of mailers, tickets, programs, etc. is no longer available to us at no cost. In addition, we have a wish list that includes other items we can't afford by relying solely on ticket revenues.
We would be especially interested in hearing from you if you would like to help offset the cost of performing a favorite piece of music. Would you love to support a local performance of Handel's Messiah or wish you could hear Bach's B Minor Mass in person? Perhaps you would wish to dedicate a performance of the Brahms Requiem to a loved one who has passed. Contact us with your ideas.
No non-professional musical group can survive on ticket revenues alone, and neither can many professional groups. We bring to the entire southwest metro area something to be proud of -- something that contributes to a more joyful and more fulfilling way of life. It has been shown that music can truly change lives.
